Each customer likes to personalise their installation
to suit their own tastes and with this in mind Scotia have
a variety of options which can be incorporated into each
installation.
We have provided a brief summary of some of the options you may
wish to use. All these options will be in addition to our normal
replacement window or door price.
Crystal bevel glass
designs
Crystal bevel glass designs are applied to the external
or internal glass surface using an adhesive that is invisible
to the naked eye. The glass bevels are cut in a variety of
shapes and sizes and the effect created as the light reflects
on the different angles of the bevels is absolutely stunning.
The bevels can be fitted to a variety of glass dimensions
from small opening sections to large feature windows or doors.
To further enhance this range a variety of these designs
are available in subtle colours. See designs below.....

Stained
glass overlay
Modern stained glass, suitable for use in sealed units,
is made by using one sheet of glass onto which lead work
and coloured films are applied.
We can offer a range of designs from our standard range or
we can match existing stained glass designs to keep an authentic
look to your home. Our designer can also create a design exclusively
for your home. In the past we have had pets, helicopters and
even family crests as part of a design. We have a few selections
below of the many designs available.
Retaining
existing stained glass
The original stained glass is unsuitable for use as either
back or front pane of the new glass sealed unit for your
windows due to the fact that the lead which is laid in between
the sections of glass shapes will not provide a complete
seal and the unit is likely to condensate between the two
panes. This can be overcome by triple-glazing the unit whereby
the original stained glass sits between the external and
internal pane of glass. In order for this finish to be achieved
the original stained glass unit needs to be professionally
refurbished and in most cases adapted to suit the dimensions
of the new window. Whilst this process takes place our stained
glass designer fits a temporary glass unit into your old
window.
Georgian
glass
Including georgian glass designs in your home is an easy
choice as we can provide computer aided drawings of each
new window so that you can see exactly how the design looks.
We offer two sizes of design for most of the coloured frame
options. Our standard georgian bar has a width of 25mm and
an option of 18mm. These georgian grids are made specifically
for each window in your home so you can determine what size
the squares or rectangles will be and ensure that they will
compliment the appearance of your home.
Leaded
glass
Our leaded glass is applied to both sides of the outside
pane of glass in your home. The design can be fitted as either
diamond lead or rectangular as well as some special design
options which our representative can discuss with you.
Finishings
We have a wide selection of finishing options which
include solid mahogany, pine, mahogany veneers and a wide
range of pvc-u finishes in a variety of colours all of which
can be interchanged to suit your requirements. So if you
want to have a waterproof pvc-u finish in the bathroom and
solid mahogany cill in the remainder of your home that’s
exactly how we will finish your installation.
Please note that the list of options
above is just a sample of the extensive choice which is
available to our customers and many more options are available – please
contact us if you have any questions.
