“No more ladders, no more painting, no more worries”
Install a new low maintenance Scotia roofline system to your home and you can sit back and relax secure in the knowledge that you have refurbished your roofline with a technologically advanced product which will save you time and also save you money.
Scotia roofline service is available throughout West and Central Scotland and we can provide a complete range of low maintenance fascias, soffits, cladding, dry verge and our JumboTec™ eaves protection system.
The products we install are designed to provide a one off solution, which will provide a weatherproof seal for the structure of your roof from the very worst of our harsh Scottish climate.
You also benefit from one of the finest installation services available in the UK as the British Standards Institute (BSI) awarded us registration ISO 9001 covering the supply and installation of roofline products. We are the only Scottish based installer to have achieved this registration and once again this is proof positive of Scotia’s commitment to quality products and service.
Swish Building Products are the oldest established cellular PVC-u extruder in the UK with well over 30 years experience of making a whole variety of PVC-u products for the construction industry in a wide range of colours and finishes. Scotia exclusively install Swish products and this relationship was further enhanced when Scotia were invited to become a “Swish Approved Installer”. Our “Approved Installer” status is further proof of the exacting standards that we provide for our clients as each company who is invited to join the scheme must sign an annual legal agreement which provides all of our customers with guaranteed installation standards and procedures as well as additional guarantee benefits.
A Scotia roofline system is functionally superior to existing timber. Unlike timber it will not suffer from rot, decay or damp related conditions which if left unattended can result in significant damage to your roof. As well as the aforementioned benefits there are significant cost saving benefits to be gained due to the fact that you do not need to employ a painter every two to three years or if you tackle this type of job yourself no doubt you perish the thought of standing at the top of a ladder juggling a tin of paint in one hand and a paintbrush in the other when the time could be freed up to spend more time with family, friends or hobbies.
We are often asked by potential customers whether we clad over the top of existing wooden fascias and soffits or remove all the old wood and renew the fascias with PVC-u. As far as Scotia’s concerned the answer is that our first choice will always be to remove the old timber before installing your new Fascias, Soffits or Cladding. We have to view each job from the viewpoint that we provide all of our customers with a lengthy guarantee on our roofline products so fitting on top of suspect timber only increases the chances of creating future problems for clients and unnecessary service work for Scotia. Having said that there can be some cases, usually involving a flat roof where the customer has recently renewed the roof coating with mineral felt or another similar material, in order to remove the Fascia boards we need to peel back the roof coating to provide access to the fixings for the existing wooden fascias to allow us to remove and as a result the roof coating is often damaged. In a case like this it is often more sensible to plate over the existing board. However, we have a fascia board designed specifically for this purpose which will allow an airflow behind the board and as a result preventing dry rot setting in.
If you are unsure whether your roof requires refurbishment, here is a checklist for areas that we can provide help.
If one or more of the above apply to you should probably talk to one of Scotia’s roofline experts about a free survey and quotation.
