Foundations
Every Scotia conservatory is priced and permissions applied for on the basis of a strip foundation up to a maximum depth of 750mm. The individual who has the final say with regard to both the depth and foundation type is the building control officer responsible for your project. Building control departments request start dates from us in order that they can view ground conditions on site and will make decisions based on what they see as opposed to what was on your approved application. You should always remember that the building control officer has your interests at heart and that any changes they insist on are to ensure the long term quality of your installation. It is only fair to point out that changes are required in less than 5% of our installations. It can be helpful, if you have any knowledge, to advise us of the type of foundations used in your house construction as this may provide us with an indication of what the building control officer is likely to accept. Our sales team will be happy to discuss your individual requirements in more detail.
