At Scotia, all of our staff realise that with every contract, large or small, we are making a commitment to look after our customer not just at the stage of sale but all the way through the buying process, throughout the installation and ten year insurance protected guarantee that we provide. We’ve been in business since 1983 and from the very beginning we’ve manufactured the majority of windows we install from our 24,000 square foot factories in Ayrshire. We believe that by making our own products and producing them to recognised quality standards means that we are in control of the product which we provide for our clients. Clearly, the depth of experience and knowledge of our staff is second to none. We offer retail clients the opportunity of a free survey and quotation from an experienced member of our sales staff who are based in our showrooms in Ayrshire, Glasgow and Lanarkshire.
If you select a conservatory, sun room or extension which requires permissions, we will arrange a visit from our architectural technician and surveyor. During this visit he will check all the relevant sizes of your home and the site for the new works in order that he can prepare detailed drawings to accompany your application to the relevant authorities. In the majority of cases a building warrant will be required and in addition a large number of applications will require planning permission. Once your applications are lodged with the local authority it’s quite normal for us to receive queries relating to your project and in some cases we may be asked for additional information such as an engineer’s report accompanied by a design certificate. In normal circumstances permissions will be granted within 8-12 weeks of the application although there can be some cases where the permissions can take longer.

It has become increasingly common for companies in our field to buy in products from other manufacturers rather than produce the product themselves. At Scotia we believe that by controlling the quality of components and the quality of fabrication that our customers have a product that’s fit for the job. Not only does this provide significant benefits to our customers, it also means that your money is spent in our community creating jobs in the sale, manufacture, installation and service of your products. Scotia currently provides employment for over 160 people from their three Ayrshire based factories.
